Chillybuddy (patent pending) is a light-weight mesh cooling jacket designed specifically
to help keep a dog comfortable in hot weather and reduce harm from exposure to the sun.
The jacket's outer layer is made of woven plastic with an aluminized finish, a fabric originally designed for shade cloths. The outer layer reflects all wavelengths of light away from the surface. The jacket is lined with a cotton mesh that breathes.
Both layers allow air to pass through.

Chillybuddy jackets work even when DRY! This is important to those who do not want to wet a recently groomed bichon coat! On a 90° F day, a Chillybuddy jacket can lower the coat temperature from 145° F to 103° F!

If you soak a Chillybuddy in water to dampen the cotton lining before use, you can lower the dog's coat temperature by a further 20° F from evaporative cooling,
for a total reduction from 145° F to 83° F (a 43% decrease in coat temperature).
The degree of change will vary by color of coat
(black dogs may get a 50% reduction in coat temperature).

For pink-skin dogs like Bichons, a Chillybuddy jacket will protect the skin
under the dog's coat from sunburn.

Chillybuddy will also protect the dog's coat from bleaching by the sun

Simple to put on, the Chillybuddy has adjustable velcro closures
